The Grand Rising Respite Facility and Shine A Light in the Dark, provide trauma-informed mental health training designed to equip educators, administrators, counselors, school resource officers, and support staff with the knowledge and practical skills needed to recognize, respond to, and support students experiencing mental health challenges.

Our interactive trainings promote safer, healthier learning environments by increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and strengthening school-wide approaches to student well-being. Participants gain evidence-based strategies to identify early warning signs, respond appropriately to students in distress, and connect families with community resources while fostering resilience and academic success.

Training topics can be customized to meet the unique needs of each district and may include:

  • Mental Health Awareness and Early Identification

  • Trauma-Informed Schools and Classroom Practices

  • Youth Anxiety, Depression, and Suicide Prevention

  • Behavioral Intervention and De-escalation Techniques

  • Crisis Response and Post-Crisis Recovery

  • Substance Use Prevention and Vaping Awareness

  • Bullying, Cyberbullying, and Conflict Resolution

  • Self-Harm Recognition and Intervention

  • Building Resilience and Protective Factors

  • Compassion Fatigue, Burnout Prevention, and Staff Wellness

  • Cultural Competency and Inclusive Student Support

  • Parent and Family Engagement Strategies

Each training incorporates real-world scenarios, interactive discussions, and practical tools that staff can immediately apply within the school setting. The trainings are available in person and can be tailored for professional development days, faculty meetings, district conferences, or specialized staff training.

Our mission is to partner with schools to create trauma-responsive campuses where every student feels safe, supported, and empowered to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
